Grand Hyatt, Seoul

If I had to choose just one hotel in Seoul, it would be the Grand Hyatt Seoul without hesitation. The reason I keep coming back is simple: there is always something to do here. The restaurants are excellent, and beyond dining, the outdoor pool in summer and the ice rink in winter give the hotel a life that most properties in the city simply do not have. For a memorable evening, JJ Mahoney's, the lounge club that has been running in the hotel for decades, is a place I return to regularly.

I had been visiting the restaurants and lounge for years before finally staying as a guest. The room I chose was a Deluxe Corner type. During the day, Namsan and N Seoul Tower fill the view entirely. In the evening, the hotel's landscaped grounds and the lights of the tower come together in a way that is quietly spectacular. There are few better places in the city to spend a night that feels genuinely special.
