One of Seoul’s most notable destinations for kaiseki dining, Tamayura sits quietly on the second floor of the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul. The restaurant offers a refined introduction to Japanese fine dining, where carefully paced courses and understated interiors create a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.
Alongside its seasonal kaiseki menus, Tamayura also presents omakase sushi and teppanyaki courses, allowing guests to experience different styles of Japanese dining within the same space. Seasonal vegetables and market-led ingredients shape much of the menu, meaning each visit reflects a slightly different moment of the year.
The interiors lean towards restrained luxury rather than excess. Warm lighting, natural wood textures and softly muted tones give the restaurant a sense of quiet sophistication often associated with classic hotel dining in Tokyo.
While the cuisine itself was deeply satisfying, what stood out most was the level of hospitality. Service throughout the meal felt attentive without ever becoming intrusive, allowing the pace of the evening to unfold naturally.
